If you've come here looking for your usual Monday morning review, prepare to be disappointed (and also possibly amused).
I missed out on the Dewey Read-a-Thon because I was in the throes of exams (seriously, the things I missed out on this exam period are legion), and I was totally devastated. I coveted the twenty-four hours of uninterrupted reading, I coveted the nomming of snacks and the slowly going insane, I coveted the unexpected naps and the bursts of speed-reading to make up for them, I coveted the mini-challenges and the memes and the general hilarity.
So many people were kind enough to stop by my faux-thon and keep me company, but I wasn't able to do much visiting myself, and I obviously had to go to bed at a reasonable hour. Kim and I were going to do a duo-thon, but by the time she's done school I'm back at it.
I don't in any way want this to take away from the Dewey-a-thon, because it's the communal aspect that makes the Read-a-thon such a riot, but after the semester I just had I felt like I hneeeeeded to treat myself. Being short of cash, this is my weekend getaway. At home. On a Monday.
Anyway, it's 6 a.m. here. Somehow getting up at an unholy hour is part of the fun.

Ok yes, you confused me! A-lone-a-thon sounds awesome. Think my boss would notice if I joined you?
ReplyDeleteThis is awesome. If only because you have the best updates. WHY OH WHY can't I live closer to you??
ReplyDeleteOh damn, Raych...I'm sorry I didn't know about this...I'd have been here all along! The good news is, you put a shot of energy into my day with some cheery confusion and I've got lots of blog posts to read now...
